A little info for you

Adventure is at the heart of everything we do. It is the single most important thing that sets Scouts apart.

It's exciting being involved with us. We believe that through the everyday adventure of Scouting, young people and adult volunteers regularly experience new challenges that enrich their lives.

We offer hundreds of activities, as diverse as kayaking, abseiling, staged performance, paragliding, and archery. There’s something for every young person, whatever their physical ability.

Young people thrive in safe surroundings. We’re committed to ensuring that Scouting is both enjoyable and safe for everyone who takes part, along with providing parents with peace of mind.

All volunteers who help to run our activities give their time freely to help young people enjoy Scouting.

Scouting in Bude

Scouting in Bude was established in 1910 which makes us one of the oldest Groups in Cornwall.

The Group is run by volunteer Leaders who give up much of their free time to bring adventure to the children of the local community.

All the Leaders are well trained by the Scout Associations award winning training scheme.

At Bude we take on children from a wide variety of backgrounds and from a wide area of North Cornwall.

We are open to children aged 6-18 years old.

Leaders can be from 18 years old to 100!

We run three youth sections at 1st Bude:

Beavers 6-8yrs

Cubs 8-10 1/2yrs

Scouts 10 1/2-14yrs

The sections meet weekly during school term time at:

Beavers Thursdays 5pm - 6:30pm junior school

Cubs Wednesdays 6pm-7:30pm scout hut

Scouts Thursdays 7pm-9pm scout hut
