The basics...

Adventure is at the heart of everything we do. It is the single most important thing that sets Scouts apart. It is exciting being involved with us. We believe that through the everyday adventure of Scouting, young people and Adult Volunteers regularly experience new challenges that enrich their lives.

We offer a wide range of activities; there is something for every young person, whatever their physical ability or experience.

Young people thrive in safe surroundings. We are committed to ensuring that Scouting is both enjoyable and safe for everyone who takes part, along with providing parents with peace of mind.

All volunteers who help to run our activities give their time freely to help young people enjoy Scouting.

Scouting in Bude

Scouting in Bude was established in 1910 which makes us one of the oldest Groups in Cornwall. The Group is run by Adult Volunteers who give up much of their free time to bring adventure to the children of the local community. All the Adult Volunteers are well trained by The Scout Association's award-winning training scheme.

We are open to children aged 4-14 years old.  With young leaders aged 14-17 years who are part of the District Explorer unit.

We run four youth sections at 1st Bude:

Squirrels 4-6yrs

Beavers 6-8yrs

Cubs 8-10.5yrs

Scouts 10.5-14yrs

The sections meet weekly during school term time:

Squirrels Wednesday 4.30pm - 5.30pm

Beavers Thursdays 5pm - 6:30pm

Cubs Wednesdays 6pm - 7:30pm

Scouts Thursdays 7pm - 9pm
